Hollywood, california
Mama Shelter
At a Glance |
Designed by Thierry Gaugain, the hotel is in a historic building in the heart of Hollywood. Its restaurant, which features communal tables and benches, an open kitchen (and fantastic items like like Mama’s meatballs and chicken tortilla soup with guajillo chile and crema Mexicana), has fast become a Hollywood hotspot.
The lobby ceiling has been dubbed the Sistine Chapel of hip Hollywood: it features a chalk ceiling spanning the length of the lobby adorned with cheeky tributes to “mamas,” made by renowned Angeleno artists. The rooms are comfortable and quirky, with king beds and pop culture decor.
