Also known as the Neutra Studio and Residences, it was declared a National Historic Landmark in 2017 by the U.S. Department of the Interior. It was built in 1932 by modernist architect Richard Neutra, who worked with Frank Lloyd Wright. They are only open on Saturdays from 11AM to 3PM, but the free guided tours are well worth the price of admission and do not require appointments. Also, admission is free for children under 15, the press, and Cal Poly Pomona students. (The VDL Research House is under the stewardship of the College of Environmental Design at Cal Poly Pomona.)
